Broken Fireflies

I really don’t know what to say here. I suppose I could say something witty or fantastic or interesting—that way, you’ll fall in love with me and won’t be able to leave. We’ll talk through the night, and maybe go dancing by a river, and by then you won’t even remember who I might have been in the beginning but just who I am now.

Change is inevitable, but that doesn’t mean I don’t fight it sometimes. (Avoidant to all things confrontational.) I live for love and love living. I try to be as open and welcoming as I can, and hopefully it works well.

Washington D.C. is my childhood and Pittsburgh is that middle stage when you’re trying to chase down your shadow and tell it to come out into the light. I like to pretend I have a plan, but I don’t know what I’m doing with life. An aspiring English Writing Major with a minor in Portuguese, trying to stay all four years in college to get the Spanish Major and Latin American Certificate as well, there’s really nothing else that can be discussed until I face it.

Harry Potter addict, Ray Bradbury worshipper, agnostic and not atheist and refusing to allow people to forget the difference, master of laughter and idealist to the core.

Loves talking to strangers (the good kind).

Has a lot of dreams and phrases like, “When I grow up” because 20 is code for “still living at 5”. Maybe I’ll become a writer, an editor, a translator, an ambassador, a senator, or maybe I’ll just waitress at the restaurant down the street from you.

Cannot predict the future.

Somewhat of a grammar nerd, apparently excepting when writing in Livejournal profiles.

I try and be as positive as I can, but even the happy ones get sad sometimes. Soon I’ll try and remember to update Livejournal in a happy fit, too—not just the times when I’m frustrated. (Then again, maybe you’ll be able to find an amusing entry or two.
